Meet Sherlock Mole

The idea here is that each person adds a bit to the original story.......who knows how it will develop ???

Sherlock Mole sat in his garden chair ....after completing the narration of how he solved The Mystery of the Dancing Daffodils he felt he had earned a nice tisane -( you can tell he was a fan of Hercule Poirot) - Ahhhh! Bliss!

He relaxed in the early morning sunshine......There was a lot to be thankful for !!! He had prevented a rabbit invasion of the Pumpkin Patch with a nice bit of sleuthing and thanks to the generosity of the gnomes he wouldnt be short of fruit or vegetables for a very long time... and Numpty gnome had also added several large bottles of nicely matured carrot wine....yes...life was good...

His peace and quiet was soon shattered by the sound of the Imperial limousine roaring up to his cottage closely followed by a tractor and trailer.....

Now who on earth could that be ?????

Meanwhile, deep underneath an ordinary onion field close to Paris an ancient door, inlaid with intertwined silver and gold patterns, like optical illusions gone mad, opened surprisingly quietly into a large cave filled with crates, workbenches and supplies.
It was here that the notorious gnome scientist Cluesoo worked on deciphering the cryptic messages he had received from the moon. For months now he had been poring over the results of his research and there was only one inescapable conclusion: there was someone stranded on the moon! How they got there, who they were, with how many they were, he had no idea, but something weird was going.

It was time to venture outside, something Cluesoo hardly ever did, visit some old friends and ask some hard questions. There were, after all, not that many that had the resources to go to the moon. And there were even fewer who would let their personnel be stranded. Only a government could be so irresponsible!

Yes, it was time...

Sherlock Mole looked up from where he had been relaxing in his garden chair, in the direction of the noise to see the limosine draw up outside his garden gate. Who could this be he thought as a smartly dressed driver appeared from the driver's door and open the rear passenger door. It has to be someone important in a car like this, he thought, even his neighbour Farmer Brown had followed the car up the hill to see who was inside.
No it can't be, thought Sherlock as he watched the figure of his old and trusted friend, the notorious scientist Cluesoo, climb out of the rear passenger seat. This was most unexpected as Cluesoo never went out unless it was very important, and this must be very important if he was here now, Sherlock realised that relaxing in his garden would have to wait a while, he obviously had a job to do and an important one at that, if the look on his friend's face was anything to go by.
He got up and walked towards the garden gate as it was being opened by Cluesoo,
"Hello my good friend," he said as they reached each other, they shook hands and patted each other on the back in a half hug as Sherlock continued, "Well what is so important to bring you to my door, that can't be said over the phone?" He paused waiting for the answer...

Cluesoo looked at Sherlock in a worrying look, and said in a low whisper "I'm sorry Sherlock but it an emergency we need to get to the pumpkin patch straight away then I will tell you everything". So Sherlock and Cluesoo jump in the limosine and drove to the pumpkin patch headquarters, all the patch was outside wating for them, Sherlock new it must be important the pumpkin deal with big mission and mystery they lead the two of them to the lab and left them only. Cluesoo went straight to the telescope and looked though it he then looked back at Sherlock and said "look though it and your understand why you're here". Sherlock slowly walked over and looked through the huge telescope and could just make out a message on a shape and what appears to be a sillhouette, he looked up with shock and shouted in suprise "how the, what happened?" he couldn't get his words out, he had seen a lot in his time, the mystery of the missing gnomes and plants, the mystery of the night stalker, but in all his time he had never seen anything like this. Sherlock sat down in the nearest chair and slowly spoke "how can we see him? please, tell me everything I need to know".

Cluesoo sat in the other chair next to Sherlock and explained "well the pumpkin scientist always tries to improve things while they are not busy curing the world. They decide to make the telescope to see the moon better and noticed a ship, they watched it for a few days and then saw three shapes, only two got on the ship the third ran but was left. Now they're building a better telescope so we can see who the person is and what their condition of health is, we should also be able to make out the flag in the background so we can try to find where they're from and maybe what that ship was. We need your eyes and mind to work it out, so what do you think Sherlock, fancy another adventure? Sherlock smiled and said "of course I'm always ready to help, now who is this scientist?". Cluesoo replied "thats your next mystery no one really knows, we know where they work but the pumpkins don't know which of them it is and they want to remain a secret, so they offer to meet with me and you only if their identity stays a secret".....

On closer inspection, Sherlock mole realised these were not ships, ohhh no. These were indeed the most enormous pumpkins he had ever seen! Yes by jove! It would seem that someone or someone’s had been very busy experimenting but unfortunately it had not gone so well. The pumpkins were huge and mis-shaped sporting large, nose like protrusions and humps and one with what looked like small brown furry legs.
Indeed there was also something moving about up there.... something wearing spotty boxer shorts and it was holding something in its hand! OMG... Cluesoo and Sherlock mole suddenly realised what they were seeing at the same time and gasped in horror. Whoever this was, was singing Marry Banilow (hehe get it?) songs into a garden trowel and torturing a row of 7 gnomes that had been tied to deckchairs!! All the two detectives could do was watch as the failing gnomes writhed and wriggled, struggling to escape from the horrible noise.
‘We must save them from this’ shouted Cleusoo in incredulous disbelief, ‘they cant take much more of that’

Could this have anything to do with the apparent server 3 mole cull?
What could possibly be the point of these terrible experiments?
Who had been cross breeding pumpkins with moles?

(annoying and yet mysterious music begins to play in background to give full impact of final question)

And worst of all… was that really the ‘missing pair of pants’ that had vanished from the birthday party – unceremoniously tied to the front of one of the pumpkin ships like a flag?

As they watched in horror, one of the deckchairs collapsed - as deckchairs are prone to do - the poor gnome tied to it struggled to free himself without success.....Spottypants danced around the struggling gnome waving his trowel-mike..... His gyrations got wilder and wilder as the gnomes struggles got weaker and weaker and eventually stopped...................
3 choruses of Marry Banilow later something seemed to be happening....The overturned deckchair seemed to have acquired a life of its own.....it jerked violently ...opened and closed itself several times and eventually burst the ropes tying the gnome down and threw him out....the gnome stirred .... he was turning a ghastly shade of orange.....

Come on yelled Cleusoo.....we cant wait a minute longer or it might be too late...
